Meet Lauren
Lauren Baldwin is a Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist in Squamish. She completed her training with Body Intelligence and is registered with the Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy Association of North America.
After spending her early adult years as an engineer in Alberta and Ontario, Lauren returned to the coast as a Waldorf teacher in 2010. She anticipated continuing her adventures in the mountains but instead was forced to slow down as her body cried out in pain. Eventually she realized that she would have to slow down, listen, and learn from her body if she wanted to enjoy this beautiful place.
Her healing journey led her to learning about pain, trauma, neuroplasticity and the study of biodynamic craniosacral therapy. She appreciates the health this work continues to bring to her own life and the folks she supports.
When she’s not in the clinic Lauren is likely to be digging in the garden, participating in local home learning events or making something from scratch.
Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy
Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy supports the whole body and is especially beneficial for the nervous system.
Developed out of osteopathy, Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy is a light, non-manipulative touch therapy. The biodynamic approach recognizes the whole person and the body’s innate ability to heal. The grounded presence of the practitioner, combined with gentle hand contacts and supportive dialogue, assists the body in resolving tension, trauma, pain and other challenges.
Each person and each session is unique. For some, a session may be one of the few places where relaxation is found. For others, very clear sensations arise and there is a recognition of familiar patterns, and at times, resolution of those patterns. New revelations about priorities, and how to bring one’s life more into alignment may also occur.
It is my experience that health is within you. I consider myself a skilled guide in your journey to reconnecting with that inner knowing of health and vitality.
I offer 40 minutes sessions that begin with dialogue about your health and how you’re feeling. The remaining time involves lying fully clothed on a covered massage table. A session will typically include one to three gentle, supportive contacts and dialogue as required to negotiate your comfort and support.
Sessions take place in a backyard cabin on Hospital Hill and are $80 cash. They may be scheduled via:
